In 2000 Laverne Antrobus joined the staff of Gloucester House, becoming the first black clinician at the Tavistock and Portman.

Laverne originally trained at the Tavistock and Portman and since joining she has become a key member of the Children, Young Adults and Families Directorate.

Outside of her role at the Tavi she has developed a career in the media.

This enabled Laverne to take an important role supporting young people and families across the country in dealing with anxieties around Covid-19 during 2020’s pandemic.

Laverne is also an innovator and in 2020 launched ‘Level Up’, a digital first project supporting vulnerable young people in their transition from junior to senior school.
